You can do it

Writing a tutorial is not that hard, you don’t have to be a Gimp genius and know all the tricks and techniques, you just have to know ONE good trick or technique.

If you for example know how to make a good web button, but you don’t know anything about photo retouching that’s not a problem, you don’t need to know photo retouching to write a tutorial on how to create a button.

You don’t have to do everything yourself

If you want to write the entire tutorial and take all the screenshots yourself that would be fantastic. If you only feel like quickly writing down a few lines on how to reproduce the image, that’s okay too, we can write the rest and do all the screenshots.

What’s in it for me?

Apart from helping out other Gimp users and showing your talent, you are allowed to place
one link back to your own blog/portfolio/website inside the tutorial.

Is it still my tutorial after I send it to you?

Yes it is. Our terms of use clearly state that the tutorials are copyright of their respective authors. This means that it is the author of the tutorial who owns the copyright to it. You will be credited as the author of the tutorial.
However as it says in our terms of use, when you submit a tutorial to us you grant us a perpetual license to do the following:

  • Publish your tutorial.

  • Distribute the xcf file. (we use this as an example xcf file that people can download to understand the tutorial better)

So you are still the copyright holder of the tutorial, you just give us permission to publish it and distribute the xcf file.
